Yes, we have ramped access to our clinic, our consultation rooms are on the one level and we have a wheelchair friendly bathroom.

Yes, in our clinic we are able to use TIS.

Dr. Baker also has a translation machine that can be utilised during the consult.

Alternatively, as long as you give consent, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend who can translate for you.

Yes, we are a breastfeeding friendly clinic. You are welcome to breastfeed in our waiting room. If you would like privacy, just ask our reception team and they can show you into one of our empty consultation rooms. 

Absolutely, all patients are welcome! We have a zero-tolerance policy and approach to any forms of discrimination against our patients or our staff.

No, we are a private billing clinic and a consultation incurs a private fee, see our fees here. If you are an existing patient of Dr. Bakers who has further questions around bulk-billing please contact our reception team. 

We are a private billing clinic, and all patients will incur a private consultation fee. Please see our fees section to learn more.

Yes, however this will mean you will be paying the full private consultation fee with no rebate. Please see our fees section. We will provide you with an eftpos receipt and tax invoice upon request, for your records.

This is dependent on your type of private health insurance and cover.

We are unable to process your private health insurance for you, but can provide you with the Eftpos receipt and tax invoice that you can take to your insurer.

We recommend you contact your health insurance prior to your appointment to clarify whether your consultation costs will be covered by your private health insurer.

Yes! Currently our lovely nurse Sharn is available for booking on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Yes, we do offer telehealth appointments. However, if you are a new patient and haven’t seen Dr. Baker before, Medicare stipulates you will need to have had at least one in-person consultation with Dr. Baker in the past 12 months, to be eligible for a rebate from the telehealth appointment.

A cancellation fee will be determined on a situational basis, please give at least 2 hours notice of any cancellation or appointment reschedule. You can read our full cancellation policy here.

If it is for a new medication, yes – you will need to have a consultation to discuss any new medications.

For repeat prescriptions for long-term medications, without dosage changes, patients can apply online through Hotdoc.

Please note that certain medications, even if they are prescribed regularly, legally require in-person appointments with your GP for their renewal.

No, we like book each patient in their own appointment slot. This is to make sure Dr. Baker can stay on time and can effectively time-manage his day.

What we can do, is book family members one after another in the appointment book, and you can all go in together for the appointments. 

Dr. Baker has 15-minute appointment blocks.

When booking your appointment either note in HotDocs or tell our reception team you would like a longer appointment. Your request will be recorded and visible to Dr. Baker.

Yes, as long as they also follow our COVID-19 booking rules and comply with our COVID-19 screening protocols.

No, Australian Clinical Labs do not take appointments, you are able to just walk in.

We do recommend if you are doing tests that require fasting to come earlier, so you can start eating sooner.

Additionally, for those needing the pregnancy glucose testing we recommend to come in before 10am.

No, not at this stage. During the age of COVID-19, Doctors On Nicholson does not offer home visits, due to them posing a significant safety risk to our clinicians and the continuity of the practice. 

You can contact Doctor Doctor on 13 26 60 to arrange bulk-billed after-hours medical care.

IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY PLEASE CALL 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

If you have opted in to receive SMS notifications you could receive SMS for the following reasons:

  • Appointment reminders
  • Requesting confirmation of appointment
  • Payment requests from telehealth consults
  • Clinical reminders such as, repeat blood tests, repeat blood pressure checks etc.

Please follow the instructions in the SMS message to complete the request.

All text messages from us will stipulate they are from Doctors On Nicholson.

To transfer your records TO us, you will need to ask Dr. Baker or our reception team for a ‘Transfer Request Form’. Once the form is completed and signed by you, our team will send that request to your previous GP clinic. There is no charge from Doctors On Nicholson to send these requests.

To transfer your records FROM us to a new GP, you will need to contact your new clinic about their processes.

We do not release medical records to you as a patient to take to a new clinic, this request must come from the medical clinic themselves.

Please note: GP clinics have differing processes for the transfer of records, some require a release fee, some require specific modes of transfer etc.

Absolutely, when signing a new patient form you have the option to opt out.

If you ever change your mind, just contact our reception team or ask them at your next appointment and they will adjust your settings on your behalf. 

Please contact our reception team and they will forward your request to Dr. Baker.

Depending on the time constraints and Dr. Baker’s patient load, we may not be able to provide you with a replacement immediately, so please be patient.

A nurse will visit your home within 48 to 72 hours of calling the Call-to-Test hotline.

You can see the doctor in-person or telehealth, if you have COVID-19 symptoms, but have returned a negative PCR or RAT.

You cannot see the doctor in-person if you have symptoms and have not been tested for COVID-19. You can see the doctor via telehealth while waiting for those results.

Yes, anyone who needs a mandatory COVID-19 PCR test for travel or hospital can have it done by Dr. Baker. These are standard appointments and will need to be booked and will incur consultation fees. You cannot get COVID-19 tested if you are symptomatic, have been exposed or are quarantining.

No, we are not providers of any of the COVID-19 vaccines. We recommend you check out the government website and the vaccine clinic finder to find your closest providers of the vaccine. Service Finder.

As per our COVID-19 Vaccine exemption policy, we ask all NEW patient to the clinic to see their regular GP to discuss an exemption. EXISTING patients of Dr. Baker are welcome to book an in-person consultation to discuss an exemption, however an exemption is not a guaranteed result of these consultations.
